HP High Court Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
The age will be calculated as on 01 January 2026. For all advertised posts except Court Manager, the age limit for UR and EWS candidates is 18 to 45 years. Eligible reserved-category candidates of Himachal Pradesh, where the post is reserved for the concerned category, can have an upper age limit of 50 years. HP Government employees are also eligible for the applicable relaxation up to 50 years as per rules. For the Court Manager post, the prescribed age is 25 to 35 years.

HP High Court Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process varies according to the post. Court Manager candidates will be selected through Written Test and Viva-Voce. Clerk selection includes Screening Test, Written Test, Typing Test and Document Verification. Stenographer Grade-III candidates have to qualify the Screening Test, Stenography Test and Typing Test. Driver selection includes Screening Test, Driving Proficiency Test and Document Verification.
For Process Server, selection will be through Screening Test, Written Test and Evaluation. For Peon/Orderly/Chowkidar/Safai Karamchari and similar Group-D posts, candidates will be shortlisted for Evaluation/Document Verification based on 10+2 marks and evaluation marks.
HP High Court Recruitment 2026 Exam Pattern & Skill Tests
Clerk
Candidates have to qualify the Screening Test followed by Written Test, Typing Test and Document Verification. The required typing speed is 30 WPM in English and 25 WPM in Hindi on computer using Kruti Dev-10 font.
Stenographer Grade-III
Candidates must qualify the Screening Test, followed by an English stenography test at 80 WPM. They must also qualify the typing test with 40 WPM in English and 30 WPM in Hindi using Kruti Dev-10 font. A maximum of 10% mistakes are allowed in the transcription and typing test.
Driver
Candidates will appear for a Screening Test followed by a driving proficiency test and Document Verification.
Court Manager
Selection will consist of Written Test and Viva-Voce as prescribed under Schedule-III Part 3 of the R&P Rules, 2022.
Process Server
Selection will include Screening Test, Written Test and Evaluation.
Group-D Posts
Shortlisting will be done in a 1:3 ratio based on 10+2 marks. Educational qualification marks will carry 85 marks and document evaluation will carry 15 marks. The final merit will be prepared on the basis of educational qualification and evaluation.

HP High Court Recruitment 2026 Important Eligibility Conditions
Candidates must be citizens of India and fulfill the prescribed educational qualification, experience and other eligibility requirements by the last date of application. Candidates must also have knowledge of the customs and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment under the applicable rules. The notification provides specific provisions for candidates who are Bonafide Himachalis.
Candidates already working in Government or Semi-Government organizations are required to submit their application through proper channel along with the required No Objection Certificate (NOC) within the prescribed period.
