JKSSB Class-IV Recruitment 2026 – Notification Out for 2863 Posts

JKSSB Class-IV Recruitment 2026; The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 09 of 2026 dated 01 September 2026 for recruitment to 2,863 Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts in various departments of Jammu & Kashmir. The vacancies are distributed among UT Cadre, Divisional Cadres and District Cadres.

Eligible candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir can apply online for these posts. The online application process will begin on 05 October 2026, while the last date for submission of the online application form is 03 November 2026.

The recruitment includes Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker vacancies in departments such as Agriculture Production, Horticulture, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, ARI & Trainings, Culture, Estates, Higher Education, Public Works, Transport and others. The final cadre/department allocation will be made through the merit-cum-preference system.

JKSSB Class-IV Recruitment 2026 Qualification

Class-IV (MTS)

Candidates applying for Class-IV (MTS) posts must have:

  • Minimum Qualification: Matriculation
  • Maximum Qualification: 10+2

Thus, candidates must be at least 10th pass, while candidates possessing qualification higher than 10+2 are not eligible for Class-IV posts under the prescribed rules.

Sanitation Worker

For Sanitation Worker posts:

  • Minimum Qualification: 8th Pass
  • Maximum Qualification: 10+2

Candidates possessing qualification above the prescribed maximum qualification are not eligible for these posts.

Pay Scale

The prescribed pay scale for Class-IV (MTS) / Sanitation Worker posts is:

SL-1: ₹14,800 – ₹47,100/-.

JKSSB Class-IV Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The age will be calculated as on 01 January 2026.

For OM candidates, the candidate should not have been born before 01 January 1986 and after 01 January 2008. For SC/ST/RBA/ALC-IB/EWS/OBC candidates, the upper age is 43 years, subject to the dates prescribed in the notification.

Eligible Ex-Servicemen candidates can receive the age benefit specified under the applicable rules. A five-year upper-age relaxation is also provided to eligible casual workers claiming additional weightage under the J&K Class-IV Special Recruitment Rules.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Domicile

Candidates applying for the advertised posts must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority on or before the closing date of the application, i.e. 03 November 2026.

JKSSB Class-IV Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection will be based on a Written Test plus applicable additional weightage marks prescribed under the J&K Class-IV Special Recruitment Rules.

The final merit is prepared by combining written-test marks with applicable additional points. Cadre and department allocation is then made through the merit-cum-preference method.

The written examination will consist of:

  • Negative marking of 1/4 mark for every wrong answer

For Divisional Cadre, 5 marks are available for being a candidate of the Home Division. For District Cadre, 10 marks are available for being a candidate of the Home District. Additional marks can also be awarded for eligible candidates whose family members have not been in Government service, eligible widows/divorced/judicially separated women/orphan girls, and eligible casual workers with five or more years of service.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Merit-Cum-Preference

The Board will determine overall merit using the written examination marks and applicable additional points. Successful candidates will be asked to provide preferences for cadres and departments. Allocation will be made according to merit and the preferences submitted by candidates. Once allocation is notified, it will be final and binding.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Scribe & Compensatory Time

Eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities may avail the facility of a scribe and/or compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination, subject to the conditions specified in the notification. Candidates opting for a scribe have to arrange their own eligible scribe and submit the prescribed certificates and undertaking.
